Somewhere in the frugal archives I'd guess about 2 years ago? we actually did do something like that survey.
Over the top frugality? I'd guess something I wouldn't do but my neighbor does, is eat food out of the dumpster when dumpster diving. They found a chicken in the dumpster along with other food items and they took it home and cooked it. This was in 80's plus summer weather.

I had a neighbor save her rinse water from her automatic wash machine in a sink and use it again and again. This was way over the top she was an older woman and this was her husbanad's idea. Way too frugal for me LOL
Darlene
It does sound over the top for me also. Except maybe to save it once to help flush the toilet. But, still that would be a little more than I would want to do.LOL
I had a relative who would put thier garbage in the freezer (things that would rot) so that the garbage can outside wouldn't get smelly. That's too much for me. LOL
I've heard of a lot of people redirecting their washing machine water in order to water their yard/garden. I would if I could but we are on a slab and the only way I could do it would be to get a pump and pump the water myself.
Darlene, we used to have a washer(30yrs ago) that had a sud saver option(to save the water) & to reuse the water. I only used it on rags & lightly soiled things. Not very often, I used a smaller load setting instead.
I would not do the food dumpster diving, but I have seen it before on TV-maybe Oprah?
I like being frugal but I'm sure there are things that I would think are too much. I'll have to put some thought into it.

What about eating dandilion greens? I tried this last spring. I had trouble just because I didn't know what I was doing. I don't really think it is overboard.
I think if it fits your life style & doesn't become too much of a burden & it saves you money....then go for it.
