Train none of the kids on our street trick or treated not to say they didn't in a family members neighborhood but they never came home from the sitters. My kids trick or treated on Wednesday with the downtown businesses prior to the parade which gave them plenty of candy.

Fixed all my clocks for day lite savings. Changed all the calendars to November. I can't wait to Thanksgiving this year. Not really sure why but I am really looking forward to this holiday this year for some reason.

Put soup bones and mixed veggies in beef broth in the crock pot for a nice Homemade Beef Vegetable soup for dinner tonight. Will season it some more as it cooks throught the day. I love smelling soup simmering.

Will stay home today and get my cleaning and ironing done. Watch the football games, car race and then the baseball game later.

GO PHILLIES!!!

Good morning all!!

Train, I beleive that you should always buy candy that you like, so if there are leftovers, there is no waste (even if there is increased waist).

Connie, it is so nice to see you so excited.

Patrice how did Lea make out with candy? Because of her special food needs, is there anything in there she can't have?

Todays frugals are I packed up the soup that I made yesterday (put the whole pot in the fridge. Got a soup mug, 2 quart jars and 3 freezer pints out of it. The shredded zucchini really added bulk without adding any carbs or many calories. I have also done 2 loads of laundry and need to put one more in the washer. Lunch will be the soup in the mug.

I have to go for now and get ready for church. I am going to the early service as my friends are away for the weekend, and then staying for a women's meeting.

Take care all and have a great Sunday!! Norma

Hi train I'm like you people not letting the kids go out any more like they use too. I know we pick certian houses to go too. Jr Johnson house is a have too. We live in the rual areas so people give hands fulls so it don't take long to get a poke full.

Great save on water. I want us to sat up water barrels too for watering the garden. But haven't got him talked into it yet.

Good morning ladies, Happy November 1st!

I have to agree, I took Alyssa just up and down 2 blocks and while there were kids, not nearly the amount as usual. Also, not nearly as many houses were passing out candy! We went to Mom's and Meg and Alyssa handed out candy to kids. My brother, his wife and my niece were there as well as my sis in law's parents, we had chili, hot dogs and my chili dip that mom made.

We were getting ready to go to the bonfire at church when I told my son bye, he asked what we were doing and I told him, and I asked if he wanted to go, there'd be more food and laser tag if he was interested. And girls, he went. He also asked to go to church with us this morning. I did tell him one thing, asked more like it. I said while in church please listen with an open mind and not mentally tear apart the sermon. He said he would listen and not judge. So, guess he's going to church this morning. Baby steps, baby steps. I'll cut his hair after church, it needs to be done if he's doing more job hunting, he looks shaggy.

Okay, frugals...I cleaned my kitchen up one side and down the other yesterday including hand washing my kitchen floor. Next up was the living room and I'm here to tell ya they look wonderful and it was soooo nice walking into a clean LR and Kitchen! Today is the bathrooms and my room.

I have laundry going, cold water wash, hanging a lot of the things up. Dinner today will be from what we have on hand. Will just play it by ear after that.

Hugs to you all my friends, have a lovely day! Ohhh, pics to follow!

Lisa

Good morning, friends! I have been quite a sleepyhead yesterday and today. I fell asleep on the couch last night at 8:00! I woke up about 11:00, stayed up for a couple of hours and went back to sleep until 9:00. I now have had two cups of coffee, and am ready to start the day!

Well, we broke a record for trick-or-treaters this year. None. I will be bringing most of the candy to work tomorrow, as we certainly don't need it around here.

Lisa, I'm so glad things are starting to look up with Danny. You are right, baby steps. Thanks for sharing the pics of your girls. They look like such sweet and happy girls. You are doing a great job raising them.

Tree3branches, it sounds like you had a great time last night. Bowling sounds like a lot of fun.

I've really been looking forward to Thanksgiving this year as well. I'm going to add some turkeys and pilgrims to my fall decor today!

Norma, you are putting me to shame this morning with all you accomplished while I was still sleeping!

My frugal plans for today are making up a dinner menu for the next week, plus back-up plans for those nights when things don't go as planned. No take-out at all this week!

We really need to get back on track with our spending, saving and budgeting. Medical bills are starting to pour in from my recent surgery, DD1's college bills are pouring in, and I am thinking more and more that I would love to go to part-time.

I guess I better get started on this day. Thank goodness we have an extra hour today.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Kathy

Good morning Ladies, I was able to get rid of all my candy 52 bags, that's a lot of kids. It was so cute the Parents were dressed up in costume also. Lots of little kids too.

Took my son to his b-day dinner we had chinese food. And gave him money for his b-day.

Can't believe it's November already.
I guess I'm looking forward to the holidays this year.

So far this morning the only thing I've done is change the clocks back and made coffee.

Happy November everybody.

Frugal this morning was to go to Canadian Tire to get dog food. We buy Iams large bag for the dogs. We had a coupon for $1.50 and $4.10 in Canadian Tire money, so the huge bag just cost us $22.48. We also went to Home Depot to scout out floor tiles and they have terrific ones for 79cents ea. Dh has finally given in to the fact that we need the kitchen floor retiled, yippee. Landlord will be paying for them, so I think he will be happy with the cost.
Nice Autumn day here today.
Love the pictures of the girls Lisa & super news about your son.
