I heard a blip on the news this morning that Sears is getting a jumpstart on Black Friday by offering it the whole month of November with extended hours each Friday leading up to the Black Friday.
Has anyone else heard of this? If I see anything in our local paper, I'll post it here.

Haven't heard anything yet....In the past I've gotten very good sales at the midnight madness sales in different stores. In my area you get much better deals then on black Friday.

Let's hope the other stores follow suit... The Black Friday is a nightmare. I stumbled into it by mistake last year, OMG! and that was late in the evening after all the "hourly" specials were over.

Just heard that at K-Mart starting next week they will be having Black Friday each Friday and Saturday till Christmas.....From what I understand at least 3 items will be on a special sale....

ok girls, I am soooo jealous of u!!! I have not heard or saw anything about r Sears doing this yet! I will b going 2 the mall on Sun so I will b asking tho...
I haven't heard anything here either but there sure was a lot of traffic on the main boulevard that leads to the mall where Sears is. We also got a Macy's a couple of weeks ago that I have not had a chance to check out yet.

The best things in life are not things.
We have several Macy's here in our city, they bought out our homebased Lazarus stores several years back.. they are more upscale (ahem expensive) watch for their specials and go "off season" and look at their clearance racks. I never go there anymore, it's probably been at least 3 years or more since I went in to one. I used to buy perfume there back when I wore designer perfumes when we got into frugal life that was one of the first things to go.
Anyways... I have been hearing more blips on the Sears Black Fridays but haven't looked at the advertisements, looking creates a need I don't have right now, LOL! I have also heard KMart is doing it (they are owned by Sears so that makes sense). I'm not sure but I think I heard Walmarts will do the same.
