If I only used the lid to make water boil faster, I just set it in the rack to dry without washing it first. If there was any food in the pot, I wash the lid.

If I am cooking food, I would definitely wash the lid.

Happy face

Alot of times I use the lid to keep the food from cooling down too fast or for steaming veggies, then I always rinse the lid under hot running water & let it dry in the drainer. If I only used it to keep the heat in the pot while boiling water, I put it in the drainer that way as no food residue would be on it.

Thanks guys, it's great to have feedback! How about this one....do you wear your jeans (or other clothes) twice before washing them? I think we were trained to do this when I was in high school, but of course, since everthing my parents taught me was just ridiculous, I quit doing that at some point. That is assuming you didn't sweat alot or spill on them. We are normally frugal, but since we are on about 1/3 our normal pay for this month, I'm looking for reminders or new ideas!

Depends on what it is and like you said if I have sweated a lot or spilled something on it.
Good question

I've always worn pants a couple of times before washing unless they had something split on them or got dirty say working in the garden. Shirts I generally only wear one day as you get underwear smell unless I only wore it a few hours then will wear again.

I change clothes when going out to staying home. If I'm home I'm usually in daggy clothes and to go out I change. If those clothes are still alright after coming home ( no sweat or dirt marks) I fold and set them aside to wear if I go out again, I don't put them straight in the wash.

I wear jeans or sweat pants more than 1 day. I only wear tops 1 day though.

When I put on something to go out and I have just worn it a couple of hours and it is still clean, and I wasn't sweating I will put it away and wear it again.

When you are doing laundry, dry your clothes in loads back to back. In other words as soon as a load is dry, throw another load in. That way your dryer doesn't have to heat up as long.

I have home clothes and going out clothes. On home clothes I usually wear them twice before I wash them. When I come home from running errands or volunteering at the school, I change into my home clothes. I hang up my going out clothes on hangers on a door knob and will wear them again. It seems to save on wear and tear of my clothes.

I'll wear jeans more than once or a sweater than I wore over another shirt but nothing else.
