Pinkie Winky Frugalnecessity.........

What's your frugalnecessity you can't afford to live without?

My boyfriend doesn't understand this, but I have to shop using coupons, rebates, etc....... I just couldn't make ends meet without them. Bett

I agree I have to use my coupons. I'm lost if I don't have them . For example last weekend my husband got a gift certificate for kroger for $100 I was excited. As we were out and about he says lets go to the store and buy something for dinner. I was shocked. Since I do all the grocery shopping. I took my coupon bag in the store and was completely lost . I hadn't looked at an ad(not my usual grocery week) didn't even have a list. OH MY we shopped and I was so lost, I didn't use 1 coupon. I was at a complete stuppor. It was like leaving the house with no clothes on. All I could say is huh. But we did get some Meat and some sale items. But still not a 1 coupon. So I definitely must have a List and my coupons and in the right frame of mind. I still can't beleive I was not prepared. I'm still in complete shock

My frugal necessity is my sewing machine...which recently bit the dust.
So now I am on the hunt for a good machine.

I am so used to making everything, and I hate being without one. Hand sewing takes too long.

I guess one of my frugal necessities is my clothes line. I almost never use my dryer.

I would say my most cost effective is using coupons. I use over $100 in a month and save an additional $200 stocking up when things are on sale.

I am wanting to start/update my price book with all the prices jumping its crazy and add stores that I don't normally shop at to compare prices.

Besides my clothes line, cold water wash, keeping the heat down........hmmm.....
Updating my price book is very difficult indeed, just as Roberta said. Coupons in my area aren't quite as good as they used to be. You are very lucky if you only have to buy one. Now it's usually three.

I have wooden closet rods installed in my laundry/bathroom/shower room...I wash our clothes, hang on a plastic hanger, and place on the rods..when they are dry..they go straight into the closet. Our underwear, socks I throw in the dryer, so it is a savings for us.

Janet...
My Mom always sewed all our clothes had a skirt and vest with jacket that matched in every color. Communion and Confirmation dresses were made with iolet material. Used them later with different under slips.
Later after we started school she became a seamstress and worked partime. Even when she got older had a draw full of material in case she needed a dress for a special occasion. Remember making doll clothes myself on the machine with the scraps she had leftover.

I must have a bread machine. I know it doesn't cost well over $2.00 to make a loaf of bread.
