Problems with What Did You Do Frugal Today? Do you mean technical problems or personality problems? If it's the second please pm me offlist. And yes, I have missed you posting on there.
I went thrift storing yesterday.. our Goodwill moved to a new location this past week, only 2 blocks south of where they were at. I was pretty disappointed when I went in, they had absolutely nothing on sale including leftover Christmas stuff. I ask and they said Corp. said not to put anything on sale.. too strange. I did buy a cpl. pocket tshirts for $1.99 each and a icing tube thing from Germany for $1.99 so I didn't leave empty handed. The pocket tshirts I needed for putting my cell phone in when I'm walking my dog in the summer and fall.
I also went to Volunteers of America where I found pocket tshirts for 99 cents each and a hospital scrub top for $1.99 that had several pockets in it so I have a good assortment of throw on tops for dog walking.

Anna | We were in our local GoodWill yesterday and I noticed that the men's shirts -not t-shirts but dress shirts, sweaters...etc - had been raised to $3.99. Our stores don't have a lot of holiday items with lowered prices, either, plus this store doesn't have sales like you are talking about and the t-shirst are $2.50. |

Anna - It was technical problems with the site. It kept saying the site had a virus and it was acting weird. My son in law takes care of fixing my computer and I don't like it when he says my computer has a virus. I really enjoyed the thread. I post my saving with coupons on the coupon swap thread. Thanks for asking.
The weekly price at Goodwill is $4.25 for shirts and sweaters and even more for jeans. I don' t know when they started the $.50 Sunday sales, but I've been enjoying it for about 2 months. Tonight, I wore a Sag Harbor pink sweater top from Goodwill, paired with a pink cardigan sweater I bought at Kohls. They looked like they were bought as a set. I love doing the same with jewelry, wearing costume and real stones together.
When I was married, I once found a huge barrel of jeans as I went into the thrift shop, $1 each. They were new and I pulled out 7 pair of my husband's size! They had to be shortened, but well worth the price.

| | | Never been to any thrift store on a Sunday as usually at home on that day. I love it when I find a good buy at one of them. I am drinking coffee out of a read heart shaped cup now that I got for a quarter last time friend Gloria and I went out. Also bought a few other things. Happy Sunday all hurting and tired so did not get to church this morming.

Patti - I enjoy shopping at Goodwill on Sunday afternoon after driving home 40 miles from church in the next town where my daughter goes to church. I liked her church and joined so that I would see her at least once a week on Sunday morning and sit with her which I did today. The Sal. Army Thrift Shop and the Haven of Rest Thrift shop (both religious based) are not open on Sunday. Today, I had the thought of getting something lavender to wear as I have most of the other pastels. Ole, found a shirt and sweater to match, $.50 each at Goodwill. There were a few unruly children riding scooters between the racks of clothes and I told them not to do that, to go into the toy section. Their Mother was nowhere to be found, and they listened to me! But, it is better at the thrift shop on Sunday regarding kids than it is on Saturday.
I guess people think it is odd to have a thrift shop open on Sunday in "The Bible Belt" but it does give people work. Years ago, we had "Blue Laws" and certain businesses were not allowed to open on Sunday. In the 30 + yrs, I've lived in SC, I've seen those laws changed.

| | | A little over a year ago, we moved to a big city where there are thrift stores everywhere. I recently got my grandson a bicycle helmet for $2.50 and a twin size bed and box springs with a brass headboard for $75! It looks like new. |

DeBora - great finds. I love the clearance sales at thrift shops, with 3 bags of clothes free in Waynesville, NC and $5 a bag in Seneca, SC, close to a $1 Million Dollar community of homes. Some women takes her clothes to the Seneca Thrift Shop and they are my size! I got a car coat in the bag which I checked out for the price on the internet - value $150. I also bought a beautiful gold plated long necklace which looks like a Cleopatra Necklace. I paid $10 for it and love wearing it and getting the nice compliments.

There is a new thrift store that just opened a couple towns away that I hope to go to this weekend.
Dh actually gave me a gift from a thrift store for my birthday last week - it was an antique ink well - I collect ink wells so to me it is a treasure (of course he gave me other things as well). I am always looking for treasures in thrift stores.
