Saving Money when Eating Out

  • Plan ahead when eating out and choose your restaurant by the deals the offer.
  • Check the restaurant’s website.
  • Find the restaurants offering deals for kids
  • Eat out before four o’clock or on weeknights
  • Sign up for the Pizza chain’s newsletters. Pizza Hut and Papa Johns send out regular coupons in email.
  • Call the restaurant and see if they have any weekday or weeknight specials
  • Check the search engines for restaurant deals
  • Don’t forget to hit up your favorite fast food websites

Really good tips!

I would also recommend checking out the weekly coupons that come in the mail. Ours usually come on Wed. and are full of coupons from local restaurants, as well as, fast food.

Most restaurants offer birthday meals/desserts if you register on their websites. This is good for kids, too! My daughter and I have birthdays this month so I have signed us up for some. Do a search for "Free birthday meals" or "Free stuff on your birthday". There's lots of lists out there.

If you have a tourist info. center near you, stop in to check out their free brochures. Sometimes you will find coupons there, too.

Since we enjoy eating out and walking afterward, we have gotten into a habit of making sure where we eat at either takes coupons or has inexpensive combination meals on their menus. More often then not we end up hitting the local grocery store and buying products that are quick to make and healthier to eat - with coupons in tow. :-)

We always have food coupons that we use. We rarely eat out anymore, always taste better at home...

We usually have only one drink each then ask for a caraffe of water (it's free).
More often that not the kids don't like the dessert list at the restaurant and are quite happy for a McDonalds or the like for dessert, that also lets dinner settle.

I do use coupons if I find them, some are buy one get one free, some are buy one get the second for $5, just depends.

I haven't post anything because I have been visiting with my daughter and 2 of my grandchildren. Just wanted to have time with them no phone, no computer. I loved every minute of it, just came home today. Don't have any questions now. But as the holidays get nearer I'm sure to have many. Have a great week-end everyone. Keep God in you what ever you do. DH decided recently that we will be much more frugal with our eating establishments from now on... he has decided that for each time we "want" to go out because neither of us wants to cook, or he works late - the cash will end up in our hopes/dreams jar and the credit money goes into our savings account. Good thing he starts it tomorrow because the weather was horrible for his drive home - he promptly bought FF, and then ordered Pizza hut for me when he got here. Good news on that though is that he ordered the one pizza deal instead of the larger portions we don't need and which would have costed us about 8 - 10 dollars more excld tax & tip
