Drive In Movie's

We only had one and that closed about two years ago and the property was sold to somebody who doesn't seem to know what to do with the property. He didn't think it would be worth it to keep the drive-in open.

My hubby and I still talk about the driveins!!!! WOULD LOVE to go again!!!!! gosh I remember when we would go....I ever remb a date in the rain there!!! and only have one wiper!!!!
AHHHH the good old days!!!!trying to get the speakers to work right ahahha then for awhile you could use your own radio to get sound!!! and I rem them having a playground too!!!

Ours has the radio station too... they still have those speaker things but we always use our radio. Which is great if it starts raining.

We have 1 drive-in in RI with 3 screens. No playgrounds though. Hubby and I don't usually go.
It shows 2 movies per screen.

We wanted to go again this weekend but 1 side was showing Batman again, the other side was showing a new movie about stepbrothers (blah) it had a second movie we wanted to see but it didn't start till like 11pm.. we're too old to stay up that late and then drive home LOL!

It's not in my town, but there is one rather close to my town, and two further out (north & south) of where I live... the closest one is about 15 minutes away and we last watched Star Trek there (loosely based on the original Star Trek series). We find it more enjoyable to use the drive-in then the cinema. For one, it is $16.00 for two people to see a double feature (or just one if you don't like the other one), two, I always have one of the best seats in the house. Three I don't have to be concerned if someone took my empty seat when I had to use the restroom. Four, at the snack bar you get a view of the other movies playing to decide if they interest me enough to see them.
Five, I can bring my own snacks /meals in and not worry about someone elses allergic reaction to it. Six, no offense to you families with small children... I don't have small children near me kicking my seat, talking during the movie, or crying because of some natural need not being met (sleepy, sick, potty, hungry, etc). If I bring children to the drive-in and they have needs I can take care of them either with stuff we brought, taking them to a restroom without interupting anyone elses view, or leaving the space all together. And my all time favorite reason for using the Drive-In....the SUNSETs are beautiful

We have a drive in not to far from us. It is only open in the summer. If you don't get there very early you won't get in. The are always turning peope away because it gets so full. We always take our own food and drink.

We also have movie night in the park during the 3 summer months. When the kids were younger I would take them with there pajamas on and a blanket with snacks. Watch the family movie then carry the little ones to the car sleeping. I still go sometimes by myself and watch the movies.

We do have movies in the parks on Friday nights here but I have never gone because I am usually busy doing something else. Maybe I'll try to go to one before the summer is over.

We have one about 16 miles away I need to keep an eye on what movies they are showing this summer to go again. We went once or twice two summers ago with the kids but last year when we had time I didn't like the movies being shown.
