You are amazing -- I love this idea. I don't think its going to work for me based on what I have found in my past. Anyway -- funny story for you. When I was a kid I used to go to the Beer Store with my dad regularly. At a young age I knew the value of a beer bottle (which was a nickle in those days). I found one on the way to school one morning and proudly showed the principal my "nickle". My mom, of course, heard about this at the next parent-teacher interview, and was MORTIFIED!!! I guess I'm a frugal girl from way back! Good luck to you!

I found $0.01 today -- hey, it's a start! I've started a regiment of picking up litter on the way to and from school (which is, unfortunately, necessary at least every other day) and at their school park, so maybe I'll find more money! I like your thread northerngirl, it makes us focus on something we otherwise wouldn't have.

When my kids were younger, we used to go to Barnes and Nobles. While I was looking at magazines, they were scrounging around in the chairs for money. I think they found close to eight or nine dollars one time. Then they would split the money and go buy treats at the cafe.
Thanks, Leighann. It seems funny now. At the time, I wasn't really paying attention and I wanted to about die when I saw what they were doing. I thought they were looking at books. lol

No THAT is a profitable business! No need to blush!
