Do you think online friendships are real friendships?
Do you think they are as satisfying as realtime friendships?
Good friendships require communication, care, love, sharing ideas, sharing joys and sorrows.
We have got all that on Family Corner and that is why I love it so much here even if I have never met a single one of you in person.
I know that everyday I HAVE to see whats new on the forum, who has posted, what is going on with everyone, etc.
Sometimes I feel I connect better here than I do with my realtime friends.
So I want to say thank you to each and every one of you, new and old...old and young...from all walks of life and from all parts of the world, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND!!!
I had a chance to hop on the computer for a second and saw this post from you. I consider you a real online friend and I do think that Family Corner is the best online group I have seen. We are so blessed.
So sorry about your friend Eileen's mother. How sad. Glad you could be there with her.
I too have made alot of online friends on family. When I had health problems with my eyes everyone was so encouraging. Especially you Julie will always remember it. We have all been together a long time now and with the photos added to the posts have made us all closer. Have even talked to a few people on Yahoo with voice really amazing.
Love coming on every day to see what everyone has to say about their day. Great when new ones join our group and add something new to our topics. Guess we are a special kind of person to be able to communicate on line with people we don't even know. They say friendship keeps you healthier at least everything is not bottled up inside of us and a good laugh is always had on here.
Thanks Trainlady for starting this Topic.

Your Welcome, Sueanne!
I just feel such a strong connection to the "family" and I wanted to share that here. I wish I had the means to put some photo's on the computer, you all are so creative with the photo's of yourselves...and your homes....crafts....children, etc, etc...
Thanks everyone, for sharing in word... photographs. ...ideas...encouragements....and in friendship.
You all are just like family to me!
Julie, it was good to hear from you today. I know you have been busy with your family over the summer. I do hope your summer is going well. Were you able to take any family trips, even if for just a weekend? Take good care of yourself!!
Thanks for your condolences.
Lots of love, Train
For what it is worth here is what I have found about on line friendships. I have meet and formed a friendship with a few friends on a message board. One I met and a couple others I hope to meet someday.
But I also know there are a few kooks who make up things just to have something to say. This is sad because it ruins it for the legit. ones on boards.
There are also some who want to be in control and or want to be coaxed and babied. that too is sad. Would I try it again, probably. I think everyone is basically trustworthy, but a few odd balls and petty people can ruin it for a few.
This is truly a family of friends.. it's like dropping in for a quick cup of coffee....and chatting for a few, then going on with your chores. It's nice because there is always someone around to help if you need help.....*s* It's the best thread anywhere!....really nice ladies with soooo much to offer....young, older and in between... *s*
*Gold stars for everyone!*

I love FC and I go to serveral threads daily. On my state thread, I have met one of the "girls" and she is so sweet. I consider her a good friend. Another whom I've never met, is who I consider a good friend also. I'd love to meet her one day.
On the whole, the FC is a great place, with many sincere and nice people. But, there are also a few weird, deceiving people. I like for the most part the way people are eager to help when someone needs input. Most of FC are great people. I don't remember how I found it, but I'm glad to have the opportunity to be here. Thanks to all who have been friendly to me. ;-)

Wow, It must be nice to have friends on the forum. I cannot seem to get to know anyone. People do not connect at all. I would love to have friends here, but it is not working out.
Thanks anyway. Petunia
Yes I agree online friendships are just as important as "real" ones. I have been blessed to talk via phone with several and exchange snail mail also.
I too go to several threads. I live in VA but heart is in GA and NJ and go to the GA thread all the time and we have formed "Ga porch gang" and they are all great ladies. I cherish each of them and their friendship to me. I am having some health issues and they are ALL very comforting and WITH me all the way.
Petunia feel free to PM me would love to be your friend. Take care and God bless,

Oh Petunia! You must not be visiting the right threads!
Of all the threads I have visited here, I have one come across only one where some of the members got catty behind the scenes. I learned that the rest are nothing like that. Family Corner really is a wonderful place. I have been a member here for just over a year and LOVE it!! I keep hoping that a FC "family reunion" can be worked out and planned so that all of those who wish to meet can finally do so! That would be so neat!
Why not stop by and check out these threads, everyone is wonderful and we have a lot of fun!
