Internet Friends

Aug. 7th is Friendship Day so I thought that this thread would be a wonderful way to share hugs and stories of the friends we have made over the Interent.

THE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

We meet on-line to have a great time....
We laugh and we giggle and smile at our screens,
We sit back and wonder what this all means.

We surf the Web, we travel afar,
We span thousands of mile without a car.
We watch conversations flowing on the screen,
We tell jokes and stories and know what they mean.

What are we looking for? Where's the attraction?
How can we do this and get satisfaction?
Who are we? Why are we here?

We are "the Circle of Friends", made from a chain.
And we're here because friendship is what we gain!
Born on-line formed by few,
We had no idea just what to do.

So we are linking our pages, first one then two,
And wonder where we'll end up when we are through?
The Circle will spread, like a wild vine,
It will breathe and whisper like the winds of time.

We are the Circle of Friends, made from a chain,
All of our motives are exactly the same.
Searching for friendships all over the lands,
Linking our pages is like holding hands.

I have made plenty of friends online over the years. Many of them I have actually kept up with!!

I haven't met any of the offline yet, as I am on the West Coast and most of my friends are on the East Coast or Midwest part of the country.

It is always nice to have friends online!!

Very nice poem Ajrsmom and so true!

I have actually met online friends, but not from FC. The meetings were great and we had a great time! However, I would chat with a person for quite awhile before agreeing to such meetings. I have heard horror stories. My meetins were on trips and in 2 cases, I shared expences and a motel room for several days as well as a rental car.

I have met several online friends and enjoyed the meetings a lot. And if all goes well will be meeting Barbszy sometime between 18th and 21st of Sept while home in Jersey for class reunion (if all goes well and I get there). I am so looking forward to going and to meeting Barbszy also may get to meet another online friend who lives in Brick as well as yet another one forgot where she lives tho'.

I really care for all my online friends. Some are "closer" than others for diff reasons. But all are important to me.

Pag36.... Surprised you came from NJ too. I lived there before I moved to Florida.

I have also met alot of online friends. Even my neighbors have become closer since being on the internet.

I've met alot of friends online but only 1 face to face. Many of them I have talked with over the phone which I have totally enjoyed.

Most of you know that I had the priveledge of meetng Trainlady face to face. She was very tricky too, but it was a wonderful surprize after I realize she wasn't crazy.. Just wished we had more time together.

I do hope that as days goes by as well as yrs that I will be able to met more online friends.

I"m thankful for all of the ones that GOD has place in my path to met online for whatever purpose it might been...

Suanne what part of Jersey are you from? I am from Bordentown but have not lived there since I got out of school. It is near Trenton.

Pag36.... Came from Morris County, Lake Hopatcong. Lived there for thirty years. Was born in the Bronx, N.Y.

So far love living in Florida for the last fifteen years.

I lived in Florida for a few years, lived in Miami, Miami Springs, Hialeah and WPB. I liked it back then don't know if I would today or not. Have family in Davie, Lake City, Daytona Beach, and Jax Beach.

My Sister moved down after her husband died. She lives a couple of miles away. Have family in West Palm, Daytona, Naples.

My Mom spends the winters here with me. She hates the cold weather in NY.

See that we are about the same age. Not too many our age on FC. Glad to have met you.
