First of all, you're not slow

Sometimes people want to get notices about new posts in a particular thread but they don't have anything they want to say in it right then. So they type "subbing" because by posting ANYTHING in the thread, you are automatically subscribed to get notices of new posts.

You don't have to do that, though. If you want to subscribe to a thread, all you have to do is click on the words "THREAD TOOLS" and a little menu will drop down. Choose "SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD" and you will be all set.

Hope this helps!

I don't think you are slow at all. When I first got here, people would state that they are making chicken boobs for dinner. It took my question and an explanation to know that meant chicken breasts. LOL

Hi Barbszy, sort of the opposite!! Since leaving the mods, I keep getting hundreds of emails notifications a day! I have tried to unsub but doesn't seem to work. Is there a magic button you can press to do this for me?

Meg, I reset your option to "do not subscribe" but I'm not sure that will do it.

Well I didn't know what subbing was either and I was so slow I forgot to ask what it meant. Glad you asked this question, it helped me get the answer too. Thanks.
