July 4th 2012

What are your plans for the July 4th? I know it falls on a Wednesday this year. Are you doing something the weekend before or after the holiday? Do you take the week off from work for vacation?

List some of your favorite recipes to serve for the 4th of July picnic.

I'm assuming they are still having festivities at the park so will head over there and walk around for a bit. Will be a bit odd not working at a church booth but we can go when they are doing activities for the kids. I'm sure we wont be having fireworks as we are already in a "fire warning" for our area.

Our neighborhood has an annual 4th of July parade every year where all the kids decorate their bikes, etc. Some of the "big kids" like me even ride in the parade!!! LOL!!
Thats is the morning.
In the afternoon we plan on playing badmitton and bocce ball.

For dinner we will BBQ.
I planned my menu yesterday:
burgers
corn on the cob
red dilled potato salad
melon
garden tomatoes
deviled eggs

cherry lemonade

homemade angel food cake
homemade Georgia Peach icecream!!

And in the evning.... ballgame and fireworks!!!

Happy Independence Day, everyone!!!

hugs, train

The fire dept has been doing "water training" at the park Sat-Mon which watered the ball park where they set up the fire works so with the storms on Fri & Sun we are having fire works on Wed.
