1-1/4 pounds ground chicken/turkey 1/4 cup teriyaki marinade (homemade recipe below) 1 scallion, minced Salt & pepper 4 Kaiser rolls, toasted Toppings (lettuce, sprouts, etc.)
Prepare grill or broiler. In a bowl, mix ground chicken/turkey with 1 tablespoon teriyaki marinade. Stir in scallion & salt & pepper to taste.
Working as gently & quickly as possible, lightly form into 4 patties about 1/2 inch thick. Grill or broil about 6 inches from heat source for 6 to 8 minutes. Turn burgers & cook another 5-6 minutes until cooked throughout, brushing occasionally with remaining teriyaki marinade.
Serve on toasted rolls with desired topping.
HOMEMADE TERIYAKI MARINADE/SAUCE

1/4 cup brown sugar 1-1/4 teaspoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion salt 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger 2 cups tomato ketchup 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Combine/mix first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Add remainder of ingredients & mix well. Pour into jar with tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Shake well before using.
