Freezing Apples

Here is a way to freeze apples if you find yourself with to many this fall.

Freezing Apples
I had a lot of extra apples a couple of years ago. I peeled and sliced them like I would for a pie and froze them on cookie sheets so that they were loose. I put them in gallon bags and when I needed apples for a pie, I just used what I needed. The pies were delicious and no one ever guessed that the apples had been frozen.

I've done that as well Charlotte but dipped them in lemon juice water before freezing to help keep the color true.

I just did the same thing the other day. I freeze mine in smaller bags--about 4-5 cups per bag.
I also use lemon juice or a salt water solution to dip my cut apples in in so they don't turn brown.
