Lisa, I like your guy's take on Thanksgiving too. About your coworker, I worked with a lady like that once too and she would do that to everybody. She was far from a perfect employee herself and almost like a child who thought if she pointed out other's "faults" that it would make her look better. Hope you find a better job or she decides to move on or out.

Jodi, Thanks for the tip on the price of turkeys at Target. I'll have to check that out. We are going over to friends but will save it and cook it for Christmas and enjoy the leftovers. I love turkey, don't really care for pie crust or marshmallows, or rolls with all the other good food around and prefer sweet potatoes to mashed and I actually usually lose weight around Thanksgiving. I just had my cholesterol checked again and it was not good but not bad enough to go on medication for it yet.

Minny, You gave me another good use for soda, cleaning the rusty tools in the garage. It would be much cheaper than that rust remover they sell.

Bluebird, Hope your move goes well and the mental yoga helps.

Oh girls....where are you???

I'm home with Alyssa who is sick again, or maybe it's still? I told them not to give her Amoxcillin for her sinus infection as it doesn't work but do they listen...no! So back to the doc we go.

Been watching the food, hovering at 215 just cannot break that! But I will, I'm determined to do so!

Need to get off here, taking the child to the doc.

Hugs,
Lisa

I'M HERE!

I am swamped and my company just left yesterday! I was in bed last nite at 7:30pm.

So I had a 22 lb bird and 8 side dishes prepped and in the refridgerators - started at 7am and was done with kitchen cleaned by 9am. My mother in law and I kicked some major tail! (I could not have done it without her). The 2 pies and 2 pumpkin rolls were made the day before and we had 7 people STUFFED by 8:00pm! YUMMO!

I am still at hovering between 123 and 125. I did go to the gym during the visit and also got a lawn mowing in, so was active.

I think for real thanksgiving I am having steak. I am already sick of bird.

You are all doing great! Keep it up! Another month and the food fests will be over. Whew. We can do it!

Cha Cha Cha!

Jodi

getting fit

I know after I had my second child I really needed to lose about 20 pounds. I was not really active but i started by walking everyday taking my kids. I even walk in winter now but with my dog instead. I also did beginner workout video at home. I also tryed to by more fat free items and eat more fruit and veggies and the only meat I ate and still eat is Chicken, Turkey and a little pork also salmon I do have a guilty habit of eating Dariy queen blizzards once or twice a week. I started when my son was about 8 months old and by the time he was 18 months I lost it all. I got so used to the workout and walking that when I don't do it now I feel guilty and really tired. I workout 5 days a week usually in morning but on days I work i just do it after dinner. I still walk everyday about 2 miles and I now do a workout on cable channel fittv. It is a workout with Gilad bodies in motion and total body sculpt. I think these are great for any workout level and they are fun and get you in shape. My son is 14 now and I am still going strong and I even lost more weight since and I have maintained my weight for the last 10 years. It is hard to get started and I didn't lose anything till after a month or two but then it just kept coming off. So don't give up and just make yourself do it you will see results and the end result will be great. I have been wearing a bikini now for the past 10 years cause this workout also works on your abs. It is great. Never give up I know all of you have it in you and you can do it. Just be strong and have faith

Welcome and what a nice post.

You are so right - it takes time to get it moving but once it starts, it just seems to keep melting off.

Thank you for the encouraging words and come back and see us again soon!
