Did we look as ridiculous...Probably so!!!

What fashion trends of today do you NOT like?
What looks ridiculous to me nowadays are the young boys who wear pants that look like they are 20 sizes too big!!

But maybe I looked just as ridiculous in my bell bottoms and Farrah Fawcett Hairdo in high school.........
Or my plaid pants and Hollie Hobbie top in elementary school!!! LOL!!!!

What trends do you think are silly from back then or now?
And which ones do you remember wearing??!!

peace,train

I have really noticed lately that alot of the sleeves are way too long, hanging past their hands, what is with that????

I know in the 60's and 70's we had to have driven the adults crazy with some of the stuff we wore. turn about is fair play right.

I don't beleive is LESS IS MORE... yeah more skin! YIKES some of the skimpy clothes these young kids are wearing are amazing! My parents would have died if I ever came home looking like a street walker!! I am by far ol (only 30 yrs young) BUT come on kids, put some clothes on!!

The worse is the other day while xmas shopping we saw a girl who looked like she was MAYBE 13 adn she had on those low, low, low riders... You know the ones where your underware (or G-string) in her case! was hanging out and then a top that resembled a bra with studs and beads on it and then flip flops!! Keep in mind it is winter and this girl is going to catch a cold walking around ½ naked..

The one fashion thing I hate is the "muffin look" hipster (low riders?) jeans or pants that have body fat hanging over the top! The thing is, it is so hard to find jeans or pants that are not hipsters they are made for the slimer person. I much prefer waist high any time.
When I see kids that have their pants waaaay too low and too big I feel like saying you could fit a nappy (daiper) under those!
My boys have them on their hips but not that low.

Of course I never looked ridiculous back when I was growing up---I was a fashion statement (?) LOL!!!
I had a fake, brown leather jumper that I worn a bright, lime green crepe blouse under. I thought I was pretty "Cool"--- looking back how any one could be "Cool" in a fake, brown leather jumper is beyond me.
We have a picture of DH in the 70's wearing Red, White & Blue striped bell bottoms. His hair was long (I think he had eyes somewhere under all those curls). My Dks have a great laugh over it.

I think the consensus here is that we were cool, but today they are not! lol

What's not cool about Holly Hobbie, bell bottoms and fake leather? Bring it all back I say!

You know some of the fashions we had weren't that bad I just think i'ts that there were too many out there things at once, example the jacket OR the pants OR the boots/shoes but teamed all together (colours or patterns) it was out there. on the other hand what's wrong with out there as long as it fits and suits you?
I guess that comes from being a conservative dresser myself, I can take the one item not all together.

Saw a girl yesterday down the street, and I said to dh "That is an interesting look". He decided I was being generous with my comment. She had on tight (as in almost painted on) khaki short, short hipster shorts, a black knitted short sleeved top that sat under her bust but was not a proper belly top - was actually WAY too small. She had a white with black spotty leopard print cap complete with peak, and...wait for it...very high bright red stiletto heel shoes. AARRRGGGHHH I was staggered, because her demeanour said "I look beautiful" but all I could think was "Guys, I'm here, come and take me." Oh, her age? Maybe 17.
