Big Grin minimalist wardrobe

This is a video on one gals wardrobe. Wow.

I don't even know if I want to be able to do this. I applaud her though!

I would think she would a few more shirts at least as it looked like she only had 5.

Good morning all!!

Roberta, I follow Crystal's blog on Money Saving MomŽ :: Helping You Be a Better Home Economist and I have never seen her with anything else but the blue/turquoise tops on. She also is doing a series on 31 weeks of couponing, mostly for newbies, you know, how to get coupons, when to use them, etc.

I like to have 2 weeks worth myself. A good reason is that I work out in the public and can't be seen in the same thing day after day. If I worked in an office in the '30-'50's you only wore a blue suit with a white blouse. You actually wore the same outfit for 5 days, and then had it dry cleaned on Saturday, picked it up Saturday evening, and wore it again the next week.

I think my mother had 3 "housedresses" which were actually coolots dresses, and a dress to wear if she had a dr appt, or a wedding, or a funeral, all the same dress. We could never get her into pants, even though my grandmother wore pantsuits.

But, hey, whatever works for each individual.

Take care all!! Norma

I was just thinking if she only had the 5 tops show she would be doing a lot of small loads.

I have been weeding out my own clothes but wouldn't go down to less than daily 10 outfits and a couple of dress outfits.

I need to sort through my clothes, downsize. I wear layers almost daily so I would need more shirts.

thanks for the money saving mom website, helps me a good deal in just hte brief minute I spent looking at it!

will try to weed out my closet also, need the room! need to update from the 80s styles where I got fixed, made me laugh when my daughter did an 80s party for her 21st...blast from the past and it should stay there, not remind me when I open the closet doors

If you're VERY space challenged and wash every day or 2 probably works wonderfully but sorry I need more colours for tops than 2, I find that a little stifling.
I do one white wash a week, 1 pink-red, 1 blue and the rest are dark colours.

I go through my clothes regularly so I keep what I need

I would need more colors and tops too, plus we have such hard water here that the clothes wouldn't last long with that many frequent washes. I wear scrubs to work and have several but seem to wear the same most of the time. I'm not big on prints so rarely wear those tops.

Nobody dresses up for church here anymore so I rarely wear my skirts but do need to keep a few and some nice slacks for special occasions. I go through my closet when the seasons change but we've had unsually cool rainy weather this spring. I think it is finally time to get ready for hot summer weather (Ugh).
