Question Green Shoes

Has anyone seen Keds made out of eco-friendly materials? I like the Meadow Mock Toe for a Spring/Summer shoes - what do you think?

How expensive are these shoes compared to regular sneakers?

I have to agree... fashion takes second place to pricing now days, Brand names are "out of fashion".

$55.00 for kids shoes? As fast as they grow out of them, I think so.

Yeah its very hard to strike a balance between the kids being "IN" and the parents being able to afford the clothing. I will tell you when I was very young, my parents dressed me like a geek! (it did not help I had glasses and braces). At some point, (and unknown to me) one of my friends said to my Mom - "You have got the buy this girl some better clothes! You are ruining her social life and standing". (my Mother just told me this a few days ago...) So that is when my Mom took me out and took me shopping. I remember the shopping spree and remember being so happy to have some "hipper duds". It really did help my self esteem. Being a teen is so tuff. The other kids can be soooo cruel. God Bless anyone between the ages of 10-18!!!!

I think most of us can relate to that but there are so many "knock off lookalikes" out there now that they didn't have when we were growing up, so there is no reason to pay full price just to have a name label anymore. And of course, there is ebay!!

I think this is way to expensive for a pair of shoes....in Canada you can buy a knock off canvas sneaker for 5 dollars...I could see if the shoe had a purpose like a sport shoe but not a cheap canvas shoe.....I don't even spend that much on my shoes!!! And sorry the green is not appealing for me......

I wouldn't pay that much for kids shoes. It's not worth it.

Unless my child had a medical issue that required special footwear, there is NO way I'd spend over $50 on sneakers. I do pay through the nose for my older son's running shoes, but that's equipment for his sport (cross-country.)

My older kids (who are old enough to care about the kind of sneakers they get) know that $35 is my limit on footwear. If they want to buy shoes that cost more than that, they can save their money to make up the difference.

I hit the ceiling when I had to buy uniform shoes for my older son. It's hard to find them under $80! Right now I am watching the shoe deals because he needs a new pair. So when I find a good deal online I'll buy him the shoes. That's one good thing about uniform shoes--I can buy them online because I know the exact shoe I need.

Personally I believe that if manufacturers want people to buy green, they need to make the price competitive.
