$80! Eek! Thats even worse on a growing foot!!!

I am a Ross/TJ Maxx shopper and I have found soooo many name brand shoes for so cheap. And we also have tons of flea markets that sell skads of inexpensive foot wear. (and knock offs)

Yeah, the eco friendly items and the costs really needs to be evaluated. That is crazy.

Just curious, Lenny09, what's your association with Keds?

IMO, the shoes are cute but you can get a knock off of the same shoes at WalMart, Target or Payless for less than half that price. I'm all for "going green" but for things like this, I have to pass on it.

I WILL NOT pay $55 for shoes for my kids. I totally agree with what Barb said about that!

Lenny, do you work for Keds? If so, I hope that you get a good discount on their products.

Isn't canvas ALREADY "green?"

I have a deep suspicion of products marketed as "green." There is no regulation over that claim. Anyone can say their product is "green" and charge more for it because of the demand for "green" products. So people spend more to get the same thing but have that feeling of satisfaction that they "helped the environment" without any proof of actually having done so.

I dont think canvas (or any fabric) is green unless its made without emitting chemicals into the air during its production, cotton grown without pestisides, blah blah blah.....I think you're right, there is not a gov regulation on this term yet. Its just becoming a marketing ploy which kind of bumms me out since I do look for things that are green/eco-friendly.
