Dressing Well

It doesn't matter if you are a size 2 or 22..there are alot of tips to make you look the best you can for your size.

Here is one I learned for myself:
Do not wear over large-size clothes.
This does not hide extra pounds, it actually makes you look larger.

More Dressing Tips:

Stiff, Bulky, or Shiny clothes..make your figure look bigger.

Also..Jeans or pants that sit low on hips...just below your belly button, make your middle appear longer.

Dress yourself to look the best you can be, wear clothes that fit.

Hugs, Janet

Looking Thinner*

Besides dressing with clothes that fit your figure..here is another tip;

Loose curls, whispy bangs, or waves can make a round face appear thinner.

Pear Shaped?

If you are pear-shaped, to look thinner..you should wear pants that are boot cut, or slightly flared to balance your figure.

Janet I am high waisted so I always have shirts/tops that do not tuck in as they make me look so out of proportion.
I am also short so make sure my skirts and 3/4 pants don't go any lower/longer than just below my knees, this way my body length is dissected into no more than 3 portions, top, middle and legs.
I also heard the longer the skirt the hight the heel so if I do wear a skirt or dress that goes below my knees I wear a bit of a heel.

Janet, I am short waisted so low rise jeans are not exactly low rise on me but fit my waist perfectly and are so much more comfortable than regular style jeans

I also read that dressing monochromatic also makes a person look thinner. I tend to wear a lot of black but it works for other colors too.

MORNING LADIES!

I too am short waisted, so lower waist jeans hit me just right..and I do not tuck in either..first I am thick in my middle.

I have learned you cannot wear your top too long, or you look heavier. I try to get my tops to hit right at my navel.

Wearing verticle stripes helps to lenghten your body...and I like to wear a body shaper cami..under my shirt..so I can wear it open if I like..I like to keep the waist and bottom buttons--buttoned, for a sleeker line.

Wearing shoes with a pointy toe, will lengthen you leg..making you seem taller too...if you do not want to wear heels.

Janet, hipster jeans are the bane of my existence, not a good look for me and finding just normal waisted jeans even shorts or pants of any kind can be a problem.

My shirts come to about an inch or so below my navel, that evens me out nicely.

I never wear horizontal stripes, I have wide feet so pointy toes look weird on me ...... or maybe I was weird to start with ? LOL

I like self patterned stripes, where the fabric is all the same colour but the actual stripe is just a difference in the fabric weaving.

Navy is also a good colour to wear as it's not as harsh as black but still gives you that dark overall colour you're after, just softens you a bit.

Kathy, I like jeans that sit slightly below your normal waist..not a hipster, where you tend to have a muffin top..if you are heavy in the middle.

I think finding clothes that make YOU feel great in is the key, and don't limit yourself on color..sometimes it is good to get out of your comfort zone, try a different style and throw on some jewerly too.

Here is a tip I follow:
Stay away from WIDE BOTTOM pants..they can make you look bigger.
I like well cut pants, with hidden pockets or no pockets, straight legs, and well tailored.

Janet

PS. Right now, I am looking for a purple shade of a thin knit sweater, button down. I don't usually wear purple..but I want to try it.
