I'm a dark wash, mid-rise, boot cut jean gal! I like Lee and Levi's -- although they keep changing their fit, so I always have to try them on (even though I know my size). I also like the pants from NY & Company. They make very nice dressy pants that come in all sorts of styles and cuts. They have a style that even make me look "leggy" -- even though I'm only 5'2" !!

MUDD and LEI are my brands. I wear low rise. I like darker colors for winter and fall, lighter colors for spring and summer.

I'm guessing that what we call hipsters are what you call low rise.
Myself not a fan I like my tummy held in, or I'd have the muffin top look (you know where the muffin overflows the paper cup holding it in) and if I bend over my shirt rides up my back to show what we call the "plumbers crack" look LOL

I do like the bootleg cut and I need to find the short length jeans, being on the short side, or I have to cut inches off and hem myself.
