Have any of you seen the new "fall fashions" that are coming out? I get several catalogs that have previewed their new fall lines. I have also gone to the mall and checked out what they are selling.
I have noticed that the colors for the fall and winter seem to be orange, purple, different shades of blues, greens and of course browns. The fabrics are ranging from suedes, tweeds, cottons, wools and trusty denim.
I love the new bulky sweaters that are out. They look so comfortable. The one thing I have seen that I am having alot of problem with are the dresses. They all seem to be in the same style and they are all down to anlkle length or mid-leg length.
What are you looking forward to in the new fall fashions. What have you seen that appeals to you? That you dislike? Something new and different that you may give it a try?
I have received an email showing me some of the newest colors. I was sorta suprised. Bright colors are also in for the fall and winter.....lime greens, bright pinks, several shades of blues, (think hot summer colors). They really are pretty and I would never have imagined using them in the winter. It makes sense, though, it will certainly brighten up a dull, snowy, winter day to have on bright, bulky knit sweater or a pair of slacks in bright color with a subdued sweater and coat.
Ok I guess I am the only one who finds the new fall fashions ugly. I would not put some of these outfits on poor Astro!! I am not a size 2 and I know the majority of these clothes would never look as good on me as they do these models in these catalogs or on the internet catalogs!! I know there are catalogs out there for a "normal" size woman....but the clothes they normally have in their catalogs remind me of "old granny clothes!" Flower prints, down to my ankle dresses, elastic waist pull on pants, buttonup w/ a collar short sleeve shirts with some design on them somewhere, cotton granny panties, I keep expecting them to have the old fashioned stocking that "Mama wore in Mama's Family....the kind that you roll up or down!!!"
I try to keep up with the styles but the 80's retro... some of that is flat out scary!!!! I get a lot of my stuff from a company that I am a rep for.. . Kelly's kids.

In this area Poncho's are all the rage. I do crochet and have made some for my granddaughter. I also made some from the polar fleece. real easy and makes a real nice poncho. You can buy a throw that is polar fleece and make a poncho out of it for less than the polar fleece sold in a fabric store.
I tend to stick to the more basic styles that never go out of style. I am not a fad follower.

I am more of the classic dresser also. I don't follow the fads, why, they always go out of syle so quickly.
What I have found so amusing is that the clothes that are popular now are the ones I wore then I was in HS!!! Gee, wish I had saved them and better yet, wish I could still fit into them!!!
The same applies to the style of the shoes!! Big clunky heels, I remember the days! Not now, though, I would probably fall off them and break my neck!! LOL
