I just want to crawl into a corner and cry for a week. Pooky and his family have been taking their Mom's passing hard. But, the blow I dreaded came Sunday night.
The nurse called from the nursing home shortly before 10pm. Dad had been declining through the day and they were checking him a last time before they called to have me come in for a death watch. But he had already quietly passed away in his sleep. I called Dad's 'little' brother and we went over to wait for the funeral home. He looked so peaceful. Most everything had been taken care of when Dad and I went in after Mom died in 2000. So all we have left to do is put our finger on the knot so the bow can be tied.
He is going to have a Masonic funeral and he'll a Navy escort at the cemetery.
I am ready to get off this roller coaster. :cry:

Thank you all for your friendship and your prayers. It was pouring rain during the service and so a small geathering was there. Dad had wanted the Masonic Service and had a military one at the cemetery. Boo was so good. He placed a drawing of his self missing his Grandpa and placed it on the coffin with a red rose. I got the flag and the shells from the salute. I laid a dozen red roses on the casket.
