My daughter and I love to bowl. My son joins us occasionally. We have been a member of a Parent/Child League for 3 years now. It is so much fun and you don't have to be good at it! My daughter goes to tournaments and has even gotten a placque one time for finishing in the top ten in our state for her age level! They have what they call Rock'nBowl here during the summer. It's a 3 hour time period for children 9-13 where they are locked in the bowling alley with a DJ, bowling and games. It's a lot of fun. They have adult chaperones and no one leaves until it's over.
though I am NOT good at it I love to bowl! Unfortunatley my knees can't take it anymore. My left knee is about shot and I keep putting off going to the doctor so I try to take it as easy as possible on it.

LOL. I'm with you nagymom. I'm not that good at it and my joints used to give me a hard time. But not anymore, thank God.
Last Christmas my DH's family met in one town, they live all over the darn place in this country, and we went bowling. It was great! I had the time of my life! I did pretty good too! I was shocked at how well I did. So was everyone else after I kept telling them all how horrible I was. I don't know why but I did great. We are hoping to do it again this year when we get together for the holiday. I sure hope we do.
LOL ... my poor dh is not good at all. And he's so competitive that he got really mad because he did so bad! I mean, really mad! I will not talk him into doing it again this year! That's for sure. He can just root for me from the sidelines...LOL.

Kristin thanks for the laugh! That's a great story. My husband and I are not competitive at all--he's better at most things than I am so I accept that. I hope you guys get to go again this year and that dh will be your biggest cheerleader.

Yes every bowling alley we've ever been to has a few dsignated bumper lanes. Normally they have bumpers they can flip up when needed. Years ago they had to place inflated tubes in the alleys. My oldest granddaughter was on a bumper bowling league and we've had bumper bowling birthday parties. It's great fun for the kids. I watch in envy thinking THIS is what I want to do!
Thanks for the laugh
