entertaining kids in rainy season

I live in WA state, and I happen to be the new president of a moms club. I am stumped for things to schedule for the kids since I am a first time mom & my little girl is only 1 year old. Can anybody suggest a good group activity that their kids enjoy and what age group it is good for? Thanks ever so much!

Congratulations with your Mom's club! I wish you and your other mom's much sucess.

One web site that might give you other insights is www.motherscenter.org

It is a site for the National Association of Mothers' Centers, a non- profit, totally volunteer organization that helps moms set up and run Mothers' Centers all over the world.

I was the co-ordinator of a Mothers' Center here in Rockland County, New York. Before I did that I was very involved in the programming of the center for over seven years. It was an all volunteer center, and I made wonderful friends and had so much fun being involved with it! We had about 20 active women, and about 100-200 moms who would get involved with the programs we ran.

My daughters are 12 and 8 now, and other moms are running the center! I've moved on to sports teams, PTA and Scouts. But I still support the local Mothers' Center by going on Moms' Nights Out, and to the anual dinners.

The NAMC can be an invaluable resource, you might get some great ideas from their support teams at national headquarters. I realize ther is no existing Mothers' Center in Washington State...but hey..you may decide to be the first! LOL!

Any way, good luck with your Mothers club..wether it becomes a Mothers' Center, like my center did, or stays an inedependant center, you are filling a vitally important role in our society.

Our motto is "Mothers Helping Mothers, in Friendship, Understanding and Peer Support"

Have a great time!

Val

Hi! Former Prez from the MOMS CLub and Former state Coordinator here. I have a ton of ideas for you too! LOL!
Doing things with food is really good.
1) Like finger painting with pudding or yogurt.
2) Painting with just water
3) Blowing bubbles
4) Making cookies or decorating cookies
5) Watching a kids movie
6) Making ice cream~ I have the recipe if your interested.
7) Handprint crafts
I do have more but have to get the kids in the shower now! I'll catch you tomorrow in the AM!
Night Ladies!!!
