Ideas to hold off boredom during spring break?

I'm looking for ideas to hold off boredom during spring break. Family time or individual time or 'just the kids' time...doesn't matter. What are some things that you do to ward of boredom?

I'm going threw the same thing only it's not for spring break, it's for myself. Just don't have the ambition to get going.

If you have a box of craft items what about pulling that out and letting the kids have a go a creating something of their own from it. My kids like to watercolor so this summer to make a longer lasting activity I'm looking at making some salt dough to have them mold items that they can paint when dried. Have a shoebox, that can become a shadow box showing a scene from a book that they read.

During spring break this year my kids read, watched movies, played on the computer and had doctor appointments due to crappy weather they couldn't do things outside.

For a teacher's gift for school I'm going to buy my dd small blank precut puzzles (at craft stores) for her to decorate with markers and glitter - maybe her hand print or a heart with the teacher's name. Then I'm going to break the puzzle up and put them into little bags with a note that says "Life is a puzzle. Thanks for being a key piece in mine."

We will probably spoil her teacher and last year's teacher and asst. this year so will have some projects to work on to keep busy.

My kids start their spring break tomorrow and are home until May 2. This weekend I'm taking my dd and my son and his girlfriend to the mall. Then next week we are having a Mom and daughter and Father and son day - my dd and I are going to the movies and my son and dh are going golfing. We will probably meet up for lunch afterward.

I see the library in our future for a couple of days.

I like the water coloring idea. I have a framed water color picture that my dd did for me months ago. I would love to have a few more.

Can you water color by texting???? OMG, that's all my son wants to do. lol!!!
