Ok I took the plunge and joined Facebook today. I am mainly interested in keeping in touch with family members who live away and classmates. Next year is my 35th reunion and I can see this as a good tool for staying in touch.

Joy, So far I like Facebook and have double checked my privacy settings.

Bluebird, I get spam mail all the time but Yahoo filters it out. I don't listen to sales people at the door any more since they usually come at the worst times. We used to get a lot when the neighborhood was new but not so much now, plus the economy in CA is so bad that they probably know they won't sell anything.

Social Networking Sites

Do any of you use any of the social networking site such as twitter , facebook, myspace etc?

What do you use them for?

I use facebook to keep in touch with friends and to play games.

I have a twitter account, but very rarely use it as I don't know how to

I use Facebook as well. I like it, for basically the same reasons as everyone else. Great for keeping in touch with relatives that don't live close by. Have found several of my high school friends, and church friends from the city we moved from, so that was good. I get a laugh each day from some of the applications that are sent to me (too many appls. by the way), but some are really cute. I post pix of my dogs and enter them in the dog contests, and in the photography contests. I don't like the sound of Twitter, you would have to be on your comp. all day, every day from what I understand. I belong to a knitting group, and a tech group on the Internet. The tech group helps me out a lot when I can't figure out how to do something, and Knitting Daily is just a great website.
