Spending Time Together

Here are a couple of things that we have done as a family...

Volunteer to help someone less frotunate creates good feelings for everyone involved...It helped us appreciate what we do have while teaching our children to become civic-minded adults...

Have a Family Game Night...
Game playing is a fun way to relieve stress.Pair up to promote a sense of teamwork among siblings or parent/ child...

Theresa, our family has done both of those things! We volunteer several times a year at a local soup kitchen. It was quite an eye-opening experience for all of us. It definitely made us realize how lucky we are.

One of the funnest things we used to do was make homemade ice cream together. We would let the kids crank in the beginning when it was a little easier and as it got harder, we would do it. We would invite friends and neighbors to come and bring toppings. Tons of fun!

we volunteered at the church as a family..in the kitchen, gift wrapping booths, and even cleaning the church.
we spent every evening "working" the field trial dogs and weekends running them at trials as a family when Dh was alive and after our move here we went to the movies or the beach together ...

I do volunteer work and if my partner is not available ds2 will come with me, but it's not a whole family time spending thing.
The kids like to grab a quick snack and we go to the beach even if it's only 5 mins away.
10 Pin bowling is a fave.
Playing french cricket out in the yard.
Our main time to spend together is we always have dinner together at the dining table with no tv. The conversaion gets whacky and they crack up at dads sad and bad jokes.

We like to plan day trips together. We get the kids involved in the planning with us.

If you're lucky enough to have a bowling alley near you that runs weekend specials, that's a fun family time. My kids love it. (When did bowling become SO expensive?)
