Games to play with Kids (@ Partys too)

Hi i was just curious as to what games you all play with the kids outside and inside?

Even ones made up?

We have played dodgeball, baseball, kickball, colored with chalk outside, bubbles, sprinkler, catch..

Im trying to find more things we can do...and on rainy days inside the house

Im in need of ideas for Sons bday party in July he will be 7 yrs old and I was wanting to do sports themed things..any ideas on that too? Decorations, lootbags (things to go in it), foods? games?

ANY HELP will be appreciated...Thanks!!

Also for daughters Bday..she wants a Hawiian (Luau) party..Im in need of ideas for decorations, foods, lil gift bag ideas and things...fun games to play

If anyone would have anything laying around they dont need and wouldnt mind passing them on to me I would love ya!!...lol

Some rainy day activities

A few things that we do.......

Buy a pack of balloons and blow them up. The kids love to hit them around.

We do craft projects like foam door hangars and stuff like that.

We turn on silly music and dance around......ok, maybe that's corny but it sure helps to release the tension!!

Im going to copy your requests for birthday party ideas and post them in the kid's birthday ideas subforum so that they will get more attention.

I will look into some sports ideas. We have a big luau thread already on the boards here. I will look it up for you and post it in the new thread too.

We too love to put on music and dance around and also sing.
If it is hot out and rainy we will go out and play in the rain. (do not do this if it is storming tho).

We also like to play tickle me. Thats where the girls attempt to tickle mommy but mommy's bigger and can get in more tickles.

And we also pillow fight. That is one of the more fun ways to release tension.

My girls and grandkids like to play badmitten and croquet outside. Inside its mostly board games or marbles. They also like to read.

For your party hit the dollar tree stores in your area and they have all sorts of cool stuff for decor, goodie bags and the price is right too!

forts

my girls love to make forts. the do it with chairs and sheets or on their poster bed. but their favorite is a large box that they decorate with crayons and markers, andf then we cut out the windows ect. you can make a theme like space station, jungle tree house, or beach club house what ever. Then just accessorize with other items. (items that go with the theme)
happy hunting with the ideas.

Rainy Day Activities

My son and I like to bake things, on rainy days we bake things that freeze well. Most days we will bake 2 of whatever we bake and take one to a local elderly lady who really enjoys or visits and the treats we bring her. My son is 5 but is really good in the kitchen. We also do crafts and take her some of those.

Go to the library. Science center, indoor pool. Play board games. Keep a box of rainy day toys that they no longer play with or are new to pull down when all else fails. Write letters to far away relatives, scrapbook (We love this one).

Play in the rain!!! We enjoy reading books and snuggling, lots of times we will have a picnic on the beach in our living room just for fun! My son will often say he enjoys rainy days more than sunny days.

Luau - Birthday Party

Make Leighs with tissue paper or construction paper with small pieces of green straws (dollar store) between each flower on shoe laces or strings, make hula skirts out of drawstring garbage bags (find green ones) and cut strips up them stopping one inch from drawstring top) use drawstring to tie on each child.

You can order cheap simple decorations from Oriental Trading on the internet or check your local party superstore (party city). Make foods hawaiin style like meatballs baked in an orage marmalade, pinapple juice sauce with pineapple chunks baked in. Do a search on the internet for party ideas, or go to your library and ask for party planning books.

Good Luck sounds like fun.
