We always have a yearly reunion on my Dad's side of the family. We only have to drive about 2 hours to get to it. We usually go on Friday then that night everyone who shows up goes to eat at the local Western Sizzlin. Then on Saturday we all meet up at the family house where we have it and talk about things that have happened throughout the year and on Saturday night we have a huge wiener roast. Everyone brings a little something, wieners, marshmellows, mayo, mustard, ketchup and so forth. On Sunday we have a pot luck noon meal. We have a little meeting and give out gifts for the oldest woman, oldest man, youngest child, and the fartherest away. Two years ago we started a silent auction where those who wanted to participate would bring something to give away. Then those who wanted to bid on it would buy tickets and put half the ticket in a little bag hoping that their ticket would be pulled for that item. It has been lots of fun. I don't think I have missed very many reunions. It is usually a blast.
