Edible Family Reunion Quilt

Make your family reunion extra special this year. Every generation will love this homespun treat!

What you'll need:
Wax paper, parchment paper or foil
1 box of your favorite cake mix
1 container vanilla or chocolate frosting
1 bag M&M'S® Brand Milk or Peanut Chocolate Candies
What to do:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9x9-inch cake pan and line the bottom with waxed paper.
Prepare the cake batter according to the directions on the box. Bake for 35 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and cool completely before removing the baking paper.
Frost the top and sides of the cake. Decorate the top of the cake in a mosaic pattern with M&M'S® Brand Milk or Peanut Chocolate Candies.

Reunion Party Idea:
Have all the families attending the reunion bring one of these "patchwork" cakes. Then, on a big table, press all the cakes together side by side, making one big square—a "quilt".
Makes 1 (9-inch) cake.

I'd forgotten all about this but now that I've seen it again, I still think that it's a great project. This would be fun at a family reunion, a BD party, a lady's gathering...etc.

Very cute and if you liked fruit flavors you could use Skittles instead of the m&m's.
