Frank & Cabbage Rolls

cat lover originally posted this recipe in What's for Dinner September 2008.

Take 8 to 10 cabbage leaves and immerse them into a pot of boiling water cooking just till limp. They work better if you cut out the heavy center vein. Drain. Combine 1 1/2 cups cooked rice, 2 oz process American cheese shredded,1/4 cup onion, chopped, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 tsp paprika and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix together. Cut 1/2 pound frankfurters in half crosswise. Put 4 tbsp rice mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf and top with a frnakfurter half. Fold in sides of each leaf and rolls ends over meat rice mixture and fasten with a wooden pick. In a skillet combine 8 oz can tomato sauce,1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp prepared mustard and 1/2 tsp chili powder. Put cabbage rolls in the sauce. Cover and simer 30 minutes, basting often. Serves 4 or 5
