save money and stay warm?

...How are you doing it this winter?

Heavy drapes on all windows. Looking at fabric to make heavier drapes for the great room.

Turning down the heat at night. Trying to keep it at 68* during the day but failing. It has been so cold here! Electric heater in the bathroom and laundry room as needed.

We keep it at 68 in the daytime too. It suits dh fine but I freeze so I wear long underwear and wool socks, lots of layers. We have thermal windows and a high efficiency furnace. I keep my feet up off the floor when watching tv, reading and knitting and a blanket over my lap. Sometimes a hat in the house too and flip-top mittens. The dogs and cat snuggle with me too and that helps. I run the dishwasher in the daytime unless its below freezing, then its at night. We think that extra warmth could add some extra insurance against pipes freezing. I drink more hot tea in the winter as it seems to warm me more than coffee. Never thought I would say it but sometimes its nice to have a hot flash or two in the winter.

DH is up a lot at all hours so I can't turn the heat back a lot, seems someone is up 20hrs a day but I do have it kick on to 72 during peck hours (morning getting ready for the day, evening meal time) then down to 68 the rest of the time. We wear sweats and toss a throw on our laps when watching tv or reading.

Drying clothes on drying racks has helped keep moisture in the air which makes us feel warmer. I've been so excited the past couple of weeks could hang laundry outside and didn't need the heat or a/c on and the utility bill went down $16 from the month before.
