Now that Lent is over, I didn't want to lose our good motivations to combat sloth. Here is where we can post when we have gone the extra little bit. It can be a spiritual little bit like extra minutes in prayer, or physical little bits like doing something for someone or extra household tasks, or even mental little bits like adjusting our thoughts so they align more closely to God's desires. This thread is for whatever bits, steps, miles we have done today.
For instance, my little extra bit was ironing the tablecloth before I put it on the table, and taking a minute to actually acknowledge and pet my needy dog.

I am trying not to get so down about Gregg's boss but..... I am praying .... For God's will to be done. Since I don't know God's plan I dislike to ask Him to do something that may mess His plan up.. As hard as this is... God's will be done with R.

My feelings are really hurt..... dh should have called me... I do realize this is very hard for him but.... I feel raw. There has been so much death this winter. It is like nothing has a chance to really heal before you are ripped open again.
Grace, giving the peices of your broken heart to God and letting Him mend it, with your tears......

Yes, it is hard for you to see my face but I am quiet and thinking again how compassionate and loving you are. Not only do you find time for your own but you understand so clearly when others hurt.
This has been a very rough stretch and not just because you are you, but for anybody who would be surrounded by all the tragedies you have had this winter. It would be so easy to shut out feelings and yet you keep bringing them to God and us so we can pray and support the families with you.
I am so sorry that these things are happening. I hope that you find some reprieve and that you don't get ill over it. That wouldn't help anybody! Except, maybe every once in awhile it is good that we get sick and not carry everyone else's load!

My little step today was not beating up on the poor salesgirl when my lacrosse stick shaft was defective, but calmly asking for a price adjustment and remaining cheerful.

Ellen, it's funny your little extra bit was loving on your dog, because I just got on the floor with my dog 30 min. ago to give him some extra love and attention.
Connie, I'm not sure of the whole story, but, my prayers are with you.
That is what my dog needs! Poor thing, she acts wounded whenever I leave for a while and yesterday I was gone twice!!
I hope that you find some reprieve and that you don't get ill over it.
Yesterday I bought material for a skirt and top for me and a shirt for Father Day for dh. He is a lineman and it a blue with lighting all over it! Just like a stormy sky. I colored my hair today... .didn't come out as I wished though! Being careful to spend time on me so I don't get sick. Using my nervous energy to clean house! I mean walls, windows........

Hi Lisa! Dogs are so soft to pet and they have such generous eyes. It is so nice to have them around. I am trying to not be so busy that she has to sit near me but not too near me all day. So that she can get some attention. Faithful pup.
My little thing today? Telling DH I wanted to spend some time snuggling with him. That I thought it might help his crabbiness (well, I said it better than that!). Usually I would just slip off and ignore him. But he is a lot like my pup. He needs attention too.
Glad bluebird that you are finding things to bring a bright spot and balance into your days! Pleae tell more about the skirt and blouse. I like to sew too! I think the shirt is hilarious! Imagine finding something so appropriate.

My dear dog needs a walk everyday. She thinks she is being punished when we don't go out together. What a great reminder she is. I have to remember that her need will help me.
I've been trying to organize my home. Clear out the clutter and extra stuff and finish what I start. As in craft projects.
After watching the new program - Honey we're killing the kids, I'm diligently working on our diets. DH has lost some weight and so have I. D (teen) S, has been sneaking to Jack in the Box after school! Don't know how to stop this.
I'm also reading my scriptures daily and trying to be more involved with life outside the home.
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
Members will be allowed to submit one story pertaining to a Halloween story and one story pertaining to an autumn story. Please click here to enter!
