What's your rountine for getting ready for back-to-school?

How do you prepare for back-to-school? Do you buys your kid(s)/grandkid(s) new clothes, backpacks, school supplies? Do you start a routine at home?

What do you do to make sure the school year gets off on the right track?

The kids got new backpacks this year as a gift from their Aunt the past couple of years they have been using bags we already had at home.

I do get the supplies listed on their lists, bought over the summer as I see things on sale so by the time the lists come out I pretty much already have a good supply on hand bought at dirt cheap prices.

DD1 will need tennis shoes and DD2 needs dress shoes will get them this weekend from the looks of the sales. DD1 has gotten shirts, jackets and 2 pair of jeans for school will buy a couple more jeans as the weather gets colder. DD2 got a couple of outfits from the hand me down box she will need jeans/pants for the winter as DD1 had a uniform at her age. I do have 3-4 jeans that if they fit in the waist I'll wack off the bottoms and hem as they will be about 6 inches to long.

We bought our kids LL Bean backpacks this year in hopes that they will last a lot longer than just one year (or even less).

We are all set with supplies, clothes, shoes, lunchboxes..etc.

My dd's orientation is tomorrow afternoon so we will go there and I will also be working with the PTA. Then I have to go back on Monday evening with the PTA for kindergarten orientation. It doesn't look like my son will have an early orientation this year. I think that the school plans on waiting for a couple of days after school starts and then they will hold a parent's night.

Bedtime routines start tomorrow night. Our kids start school on Wed.
