We had big lay offs in my town 30 months ago where 90% of the aides were let go, all retiring personnel were not replaced they just split up the jobs and gave pieces to other employees to do, used subs instead of hiring to save on the benefits.
Having money to bus the kids still has been an uphill battle but we did pass a levy later that was supposed to fund it.
I expect to see a major jump in the lunch prices this next school year because the cafeterias were having a hard time staying in their budget last year.
