2 of my "aquired" grand daughters have trouble in math. They hate to write also. I solved the problem by telling them they could play "computer games" and the one with the best score would earn a movie to watch (we don't ususally watch TV). Worked!!! The site recomended to me is
www.aaamath.com It has from Kindergarten up, with different skills. Addition, subtraction, number placement, multply and divide fractions, etc. You choose your child's level and increase the difficulty as needed.
My girls loved it and asked to play it. They like "beating" the computer. It keeps track of how many questions, incorrect, and correct answers and there is a timer. I'd give them 30 minutes and they had to keep track of the time at the bottom of the screen. They really enjoyed it and are now getting As and Bs in math where last year they were getting Ds.
Thy did so well we went to the IMAX twice last summer!!
