How do you celebrate Easter?

Do you go to church? Have an Easter egg hunt? Have a family get-together? Something else exciting?

My husband's birthday falls on Easter Sunday this year so we will be enjoying birthday cake, too!

For Easter we used to take turns going to either my parents or my dh's parents but now that my parents are gone we will be going to dh's family. This year we will be having dinner at my sister in laws as my mil just got back from a trip to South Carolina. We all go to church Easter morning (and some braver souls go to Sunrise Service also) and then we have a big ham dinner with all the fixings. After dinner we go for a long walk/hike to walk off all the food then come back for dessert and play games etc.

So far our plans for Easter are to go to church. Then have an Easter egg hunt for the grandkids.....Give Easter Baskets too! Eat dinner out and after take the grandkids to see the movie, "How To Train Your DINOSAUR." Monday evening we'll have a family Easter diner at home. Doing things a little different this year.

As much as my family used to squabble when we all got together, I sure do miss spending holidays like this with them.

Enjoy your time together!

I mentioned going to the movies over the weekend, too. I would take the kids on Sunday but with my dh not working because of the holiday, (and the fact that he really dislikes going to the movies), we will find something else to do that night.

I hope that you enjoy the movie and the Easter egg hunt!

I have everything to make Easter baskets for my dks. (I still can't give up that tradition) I have everything hidden in the back of my car so I don't forget it when we head to Maine but the weather is supposed to get quite warm so may need to find another plan. A melted chocolate Easter bunny would not be any fun to open!

If you still make Easter baskets for your dks, what do you all put in them?
