What to put in plastic Easter egg?

I have a bunch of those plastic Easter eggs. I want to create an Easter basket that includes these, but I don't want to fill them with candy or change. Any ideas?

That's a hard question...lol....All I can think of is stickers or nuts. If the eggs are the larger ones you can fit small toys in them. For a girl bows for her hair. ....If I think of anything more I'll be back.......To be honest with you I put very few of them in an Easter basket and the ones I do are filled with jelly beans or money.

Caroline beat me to saying stickers or mixed nuts. You could print out coupons good for "one ice cream cone", "one night of staying up late" or "one pass for not doing chores today". Treasure hunt clues would be fun leading up to finding their Easter baskets or to finding a bigger gift. You could also fill some of them with riddles or jokes if the kids like them.

I know that the Dollar Tree and Michael's had mini pens and pencils that might fit into on those eggs. There are erasers, too, but I always end up throwing them away because the kids never use them. The Dollar Tree also sells in the toys little capsules that you dissolve in water --they contain different shaped sponges like animals or boats...etc. You can also find the capsule that contain wash cloths. Bath fizzy tablets might work if you can find small ones.

Let us know what you decide to use. I'm always looking for ideas like this for my kids, too.

I like all these ideas. I will check the dollar type stores and see what they have. I like the sticker idea. I even though about putting leggos or something too. I figured it would be fun for the children to open each egg and find some cool prize inside. I could also go to McDonald's every week and get some toys too. Those Happy Meal toys are sometimes just the right size.

I put quarters in my eggs and give them to my granddaughters for Easter.

I thought of puzzle pieces. They could collect the pieces and then work on the puzzle afterward --although I'm not too sure how much instant gratification that would be for kids.

DGS's teacher said I needed to bring 2 dozen plastic eggs for the Easter party. Plus, they each need to be filled with something other than candy or anything edible. Good thing I am already working on it.

I already figured on maybe using those foam animals that come in little capsules that the child soaks in water to find the animal.

Yep, that's a good idea. Kids never get tired of things like that. Just make sure that they know what they are so that they don't put them in their mouths. Dollar Tree used to carry them in a pack of 6 for $1.

These are some really great ideas, I especially love the puzzle idea! That's totally awesome!

One more thing that I thought of was those darn bands they love: Silly Bandz, Animal Rubber Bands My daughter and her friends have tons of them and they always want to buy more! LOL!!
