I got tired of having straw Easter baskets each year. Who said an Easter basket had to be straw anyway? For my adult daughter, I bought a beach bag and filled it with Easter straw. Inside I put all types of different things for the beach. Of course the usual Easter candy was also included. Outside I hung eggs and colorful ribbons. For my son, who loves to fish, I did the same thing only I used a tackle box filled with fishing accesories, and candy. For the Grandkids, I bought beach toys and filled them with candies and a gift certificate from Toys R Us. One Grandson I bought a bike helmet and did the same. For my dh I bought a large cleaning bucket filled with cleaning products for the car, of course his favorite candy also.
I dont like straw eather. I went and cut out a milk jug only one side not the one with the handle and decorated it with bunny ears and a nose and put straw in it and the kids loved them. for the older kids I do as you and make it special for them,

Oh Bunny, you will be truly missed by your FC friends God's speed.
Bunny, you brought back memories for me. I can remember my children making this milk jug craft in school. Now my gs was asked by his teacher to bring in a milk jug. I have a feeling they are going to make this craft at school for Easter. Hugs......
For years I used new beach pails for my dks easter baskets. I would buy 3 large ones each in a different color and fill them with things like bubbles, plastic eggs filled with candy, sidewalk chalk, chocolate bunnies etc. Then they had the beach pail and shovel to use all summer at the beach.
