My answer is: YES.

We do all these things for Easter every year. Eggs are colored the day before, and DH lets the kids each do a FULL DOZEN.

In the morning each child finds a dozen plastic eggs with prizes (candy, coupons, stickers) inside. A note is left telling which eggs belong to which child (one child gets speckles, one child gets eggs with bunnies on them, etc.) Older children discover that their eggs are hidden better!

We attend church as a family. Afterward we host Easter dinner for family and/or friends.

We used to go on vacation every Easter since hubby's family is estranged and I don't get along with my stepmother. So we would always head up to the Dells, which is a town full of water parks. We would eat dinner there in the restaurant, they had a very nice set up.

This past two years however, we have hosted dinner at our house for us and my inlaws. We always decorate eggs, do the Easter basket thing and will be doing an egg hunt each year. I really like your idea Barb with the different types of eggs for each child!

Sadly, I haven't been to service in a while, but I think I will be going this Easter

Every Easter and Christmas our church is filled to overflowing and the priest remarks on how full the church is and then he says how really glad he is to see everyone. No fire and brimstone and it is just like a big family reunion. We all feel good to be there.

We color eggs and even my 25 year old nieces and nephews join in the hunt. Wouldn't be easter without it.

We go to grandma's and she cooks leg of lamb with rosemary and mint. DH who dislikes lamb loves my mother's version.

Thumbs up Egg fights rule!

Every Easter we do pretty much everything on the poll, but we also have what we call "egg fights" and the kids look forward to that most of all.

Basically we take the eggs we have decorated and one person holds their egg while another person whacks the tip with their egg. The egg that cracks is the loser and the winner moves on to another challanger. It is great fun and it is exciting to see who will reign supreme.

If you want to see what it looks like they do it in the movie "Big Fat Greek Wedding" too. This is one of those traditions that my husbands family has done for ages so I have no idea the origins, but it sure is fun!

Happy Easter everyone!

I usually attend church services from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday. I sing in the chior at my parish so I spend a lot of time at the church that week )

On Easter Sunday I go to my friend's house and she has an Easter egg hunt for all the kids.

I usually make a ham dinner of a sort, nothing big...It's nice to relax after singing all week at the Masses.

We do most of it no more dying eggs (unless Steven spends Sat nite here) I fix both boys and Judy a basket as does Gina. We don't hide the eggs anymore. I go to church it would feel really odd if I did not go Palm as well as Easter Sunday, bad enough when I miss other Sundays (like today).

Easter Sunday (unless we go to Gina & Kent's) Adam, Judy and I will be eating with Catherine and her boys. Since her dear hubby is in Iraq. Generally tho' I fix a Ham and all the goodies with it.

We enjoy church services in the morning!
When our kids were little we did it all, but now the youngest is 21. I have 4 regular grand children, and they all go to my son-in-law's grandparents. They (the Grandparents) are older than us and in poor health. Seeing the Great grand children for them really special. All I have to say about it take lots of pictures because who knows how long they'll be here and you'll miss them.
If the other "aquired" grandchildren come we dye eggs and hunt, etc. If they go out of town, then we have friends over. I like a full house no matter what the holiday!
