When my kids were little we had a basket for them. I would put some candy eggs, stickers, Easter toys (Bunny paddle balls, kalidoscopes, note pads & crayons, etc). On Saturday we would dye eggs for the Easter bunny to hide. Early Easter Sunday the kids would wake up and find a basket with stuff in it, and run to show us. We'd eat breakfast and the kids could choose 1 piece of candy to eat before we went to church.
After church, I'd be fixing Easter Supper and the kids would be playing, and getting ready to hunt eggs. After dinner they had to wash up and make sure their clothes were put up........Dh would be hiding eggs. They would look everywhere and would help each other find the rest of the eggs if they had their quota. By this time we all needed a nap! I still don't know who had the most fun, them or us!
This year will be different. Dh has been under a lot of stress at work and didn't want to have every one here. He wants to go out for dinner, so I said ok. Dd #1 was a bit put out as she had planned to come over and have super (leaving me with the mess to clean up), but has decided to have a picnic under their canopy in the back yard. The grandkids are really excited about it so it aqll worked out well. AND I still made the Rice Krispie Bunny with pastel M&Ms in it, so everyone is happy.
