8 Minutes in the Morning

Jorge Cruise... Anyone heard of it?

I just got his book out of the library last week and thought.. 'Hey.. I could do this!'

I just started this week, not following the food plan exactly but I am cutting out alot of sugar and junk food.
He raves about Flax and how good it is, if anyone else is on this plan, maybe we could exchange some good flax recipes?

the website is www.jorgecruise.com

Jorge Cruise

Hi there! My friend kept raving about the 8 minute/Jorge Cruise diet. I bought the book and it really works! I didn't take a before picture and I don't weight myself but I have gone down a size. I still need to work on it though. I was pretty strict the first week but kind of got off of it and went back on it off and on. I'm not following it right now but plan on getting back on track Monday. I'm going to start from scratch Monday because I've been pretty bad.

Flax is a miracle food! It is SO good for you and helps you to feel full. I've been using the oil but you can buy the seeds or ground seeds. I'll add it to soup or make salad dressing out of it or buy no fat salad dressing and add it.

Good luck! My friend has actually lost an average of 2# a week! Pretty good! He has a new book coming out soon and it's for people who need to lose 30 or more pounds. He has a website too, although there's not much on it.

Let me know about your progress. It really helps you with your portions. -That's a place where I go wrong!

Again, good luck!!

he RAVES about Flax!!

So far I have just bought the seeds... I have a coffee grinder coming soon so I can grind them up and put them in EVERYTHING.. lol

I am not super strict on the diet, I am cutting out junk food and seriously watching what I eat.

I made a batch of granola (with flax seeds) cause I had the munchies... at first the kids turned their noses up at it.. and now they are eating it like chips!! Even DH loves it...

I will get us out of this bad way of eating one way or another ;-)

My dh was looking for munchies tonight and I have nothing in this house... I had a bowl of salad and he searched the kitchen for about 15 mins looking for some junk food!! LOL and now I feel good that I didnt have anything here and I didnt pig out.

SherBear~~~~ We have been using flaxseed for some time now. You can probably even use a blender to grind them too. They are very healthy for your family to use.

I have never tried flax seed. What is the best way to start?

This 8 minutes a day thing sounds great! I may just try it.

Hi Sueanne... Yes, Jorge Cruise raves about flax. He has his own brand. I just go to the health food store for mine.

Daisylady... I started out using the flax seed oil capsules. I think I took 2 a day. Then I learned that you can put a tablespoon of the oil in soup, with your salad dressing, make your own salad dressing with flax oil and balsamic vinegar, etc. etc.! The ground seeds are good to add to home-made quick bread, sprinkle over salad, etc. Jorge Cruise says to dip your bread in the oil instead of butter.

I wanted to get back on the diet today but I blew it first thing this morning. Tomorrow is another day. Once I get back into the bad habbits, it's tough doing what's right.

It's been so dark and rainy here that I'm having trouble getting any exercise in. When it's like this all I want to do is sleep! Once I get back on the program, I know from experience, I'll feel better!

I will definitely check out that website. The person who created the exercise program that I follow, Teresa Tapp, has been advocating the use of Flax and Flax Seed Oil for forever. She has quite a few insightful things to say about suppliments and exercise in general and the program is the best, most cutting edge at-home fitness program on the market today. Check it out at:

I bought my flax seeds at Safeway in Bulk... VERY cheap!! then you can just grind up what you need and the seeds keep for a long time.

I make some granola with the seeds (my family totally scarfed it down!!) and I also made some yummy bread.

DD and I are getting over Strep Throat so I havent been doing my excersices either... but I am still trying to keep off of the sugar!! I went to the store today and didnt even pick up a pack of peanut butter cups.. I am so proud of myself.. LOL
