Swallowing Vitamins!
I recently bought some new vitamins and after opening the bottle I discovered that they are not coated. I can swallow some big pills, as long as they're coated. But these, although they are small by comparison, just stick in my mouth. Any tricks to making them go down? I don't want to waste a whole bottle of vitamins!

Would it help to take a big drink of water with them when you are trying to swallow them?

Tami, that's what I WAS doing. Clearly I need to move on to something more drastic!

I can't think of anything else for you to do with it other than crush it. Would that be possible? Would that reduce the effectiveness of the vitamin?
I HATE that feeling when a pill gets stuck in my mouth like that! Sorry I'm no help!

No, there will be no crushing of this pill. It tastes nasty enough as it is.
Maybe I can try it in a spoonful of yogurt.

Try coating it in butter. Put the pill in a spoonful of jelly.

I have a hard time swallowing pills too. I generally just take them with food. They go down with the mix, and I don't notice. If it's at a time when you aren't eating, the spoonful of yogurt or a cracker would work well. My ds can take the largest pill dry! I think it's disgusting. But he was in the hospital when he was 9, and has been able to do that ever since.

I was thinking applesauce or yogurt, something that you can just swallow with the pill in your mouth Barb.

My son's dr suggested putting the pill in a big spoonful of applesauce.

I have trouble with pills too. You have to be careful what you crush ,because of the acting power.
My vote is food. a peace of toast works best for me followed directly by a liquid.
