Ladyfinger Trifle Recipe

This recipe was originally posted by VicRae in No-Bake Desserts

Ladyfinger Trifle Recipe

8-10 Servings Prep: 20 min. + chilling

Ingredients:
2 packages (one 8 ounces, one 3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
1 package (3 ounces) ladyfingers
1 can (21 ounces) dark cherry pie filling or filling of your choice

Directions:

In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.

Split ladyfingers; arrange on the bottom and around the edge of a 2-qt. serving bowl (about 8-in. diameter). Pour cream cheese mixture into bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Just before serving, spoon pie filling over cream cheese mixture. Yield: 8-10 servings.

Can use frozen whip topping for whipping cream ( 8 oz. container equals about 3 cups).

I did a little different but basically the same recipe.
Here goes...
I made a sponge cake and cut into fingers then layers of 3 (for me the ladyfingers in the recipe are too sweet)
if you didn't wish to make a sponge then you could buy one and do the same.
For me who has made trifles for years this was a hybrid trifle/cheesecake but it works wonderfully.
I did mine with passionfruit and pineapple instead of the cherries and I topped with mango, these are all in
season here at the moment.
I guess if you really wanted you could make small individual ones for something fancy. I was asked if I'd make
this recipe again, so for us it's a keeper.

Thanks for the ribbon. Glad you all like it. I made it again for christmas and all had it. They acturally left the pies and most of the 2 cakes I made alone.

Have a good day. No snow this weekend for me.
