Tiramisu Dessert

This recipe was orginally posted in Jan 2011 What's for Dinner thread by Bilby.

I made up dessert as I went along and it was yummy, here goes

Based on tiramisu dessert (my lot don't like coffee)
Choc cream sponge fingers.

1pkt of sponge fingers (about 24)
2 cups pre made cold custard
1 cup of whipped whipping cream (don't know if the canned stuff would work as well)
Whip cream to stiff peaks and fold in cold custard set aside in frig.

1 tablespoon Cocoa
Drinking/hot chocolate powder
2 cups boiling water
Make 2 cups of hot chocolate (with water) in a jug as per instructions adding a large tablespoon of cocoa and mix until dissolved.

Dip sponge fingers in chocolate briefly with tongs and place in a serving dish, 1 layer. (square/rect dish makes this easier)
Thinly spread cream/custard mix on first layer, add second layer and layer until finished fingers.
Making sure that the custard/cream mix will cover the final layer well. Grate or shave chocolate over the top. Cover with cling wrap and put in fridge to set.

Amounts greatly depend on your dish and and how long your fingers are soaked as to how much of each you need. If you like a really creamy custardly dessert make double of that. Remember the longer you soak your fingers the softer they will be but will be more chocolatey, so have fun and play with it, we loved it.
