Triple Chocolate Mess

1 package chocolate cake mix [used homemade mix]
1 pint sour cream [used low-fat]
1 package instant chocolate pudding
1 small bag chocolate chips [used 8.5oz milk chocolate chips]
3/4 cup oil [used 1/2 cup applesauce & 1/4 cup canola oil]
4 eggs
1 cup water

Spray crockpot with non-stick spray. Mix all ingredients.
Pour into crockpot. Use a paper towel under the lid
(replace it after about 4 hours). Cook on low for 5 to
5½ hours. Serve in a bowl with ice cream.

1 2/3 c flour
1 1/4 c sugar
2/3 c cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp cornstarch
2 c sour cream
1 c water
2 c chocolate chips
3/4 c applesauce
4 eggs

The person who submitted this recipe said "This
version adapted from the original recipe. ...Crocked
on high for 5 hours (In a 5qt Rival that runs hot) and
it was quite moist and cake like. It started to burn
by 6 hours on a second attempt so beware! It was
a bit less sickeningly chocolate than the original but
it was deemed a big improvement by the adults."
