You think You got bad Credit?

You think you have bad credit? I will tell you about mine. I closed a checking account and opened at another bank with free checking. I signed up for the debit card and I was DENIED a plain old atm card for my own checking account. That is pretty bad. but in the long run it is good. I have to write checks now and stop at the bank 1x a week for money. Which is really saving me $$. Actually in the last month I've saved about $200 that is excellent for me and was able to buy my kids shoes and some needed items without wondering where I was going to get the extra cash. So maybe bad credit is a good thing for me. Now I really have to manage the money and go with out.

That's a really good idea! I really should do that too. I've been thinking about that lately too, that if something ever happened to hubby (believing God it won't ), I would like to have my own credit established. I don't understand why they wouldn't give you an ATM card? That just doesn't make sense!

women in business

I am a disable vet trying to start a business. I really need a business grant to start business. I have found multiple grants for those from India, American Indians and women in business. I find nothing to help the vets or disabled vets. I have been to the SBA and the VA and all tell me to search the web. Has anyone found something out there? If so, let me know soon. Thank you for your help.

I thought ATM cards came with the account, maybe it's just the type of account you have, but may be different in the US.

We only have joint accounts, I don't have one in my name nor does dh have one singly in his name. Never been a problem of us.

athenamathew,

Did you try checking out checking out your business women's organization in your local area?
They usually are willing to help women who want to get into their own business. And it would be a good resource and support group.
