I just thought I would let you know that I took all of your advice and I am actually very close to paying off a couple of my credit card debts in the next couple of months. I have been paying as much as I can on the smallest debt and the minimum on the largest. (I know some people would have done it the other way around) I just want you all to know how great it feels to be so close to accomplishing something like this!

WOOOHOOO!!!

Debt-free feels soooooo good. You're almost a whole month closer since that last post. You must be feeling pretty good.

Congratulations!

chuckle 5 year plan

DH and I recently decided we're going to put ourselves on a 5 year plan. Within the next year we want to have EVERYTHING paid off, and not accumulate any new debt, AND have a great big ol' safety net savings account. In December, we bought a brand new 4-door truck (how stupid could we get) and financed it for 7 years (still have payments of $495/m)....we're determined to pay it off early. We also have one CC that min. payment is $100/month, but we pay at least $150, on that, one that the min. is something like $65 and we pay at least $75. Can you even imagine what you could do with $725 extra a month?!?! Even if we put half or more into savings, we could do anything we wanted. I'm really excited about this...I'd love to be able to say "I'm debt free". Not to mention, be able to walk into a store and buy whatever it is we need or want (within reason of course ;-) ) because in addition to our safety net savings, we have a savings just for big-ticket items. Wish me luck!
